Will You Stand Up for Animals Who Can’t Escape?
From 18th February for two weeks only, you can help protect animals used in mobile zoos across the UK – just as these businesses start gearing up for spring events.
Act now to stop the suffering before it begins.
Right now, across the UK, animals are being…
transported from event to event…
handled by strangers…
deprived of proper care…
and forced to live in constant fear and stress
These animals are in mobile zoos operating in our own communities.
Behind birthday parties, school visits, and public events is a fast-growing industry where animals are treated as props – repeatedly moved, handled, and denied the freedom of being in the wild where the belong.
With limited regulation or oversight, countless animals pass through these businesses every year without accountability for their suffering – or their deaths.
But you can help change this.
You have the power to act today by becoming a regular donor
Your monthly support helps us:
-
Work directly with councils willing to take meaningful action
-
Investigate animal welfare concerns
-
Raise awareness of this hidden industry
We are working with local authorities to introduce policies that would ban mobile zoos from council-owned land – a proven strategy that helped end wild animal travelling circuses. Restricting public venues reduces demand, protects animals, and builds momentum for wider change.
From just £3 a month can help protect animals from a lifetime of stress and neglect
Less than the price of a coffee. But a powerful step towards freedom for animals who cannot choose for themselves.
This two-week appeal runs from 18 February – 3 March. Your support now makes the biggest impact

You will receive a hedgehog plushie that we have named Ziggy!
We first met the real Ziggy, an African pygmy hedgehog, at a mobile zoo event in a busy hall.
She was surrounded by children, all wanting to touch her. Bright lights and loud noises only added to the terror, she was visibly scared with nowhere to escape.
African pygmy hedgehogs are among the most exploited. They are repeatedly handled in ways that disrupt their natural routines, causing chronic stress that weakens their immune systems and leaves them vulnerable to illness and early death.
Ziggy is not alone!
So many individuals from so many different species are used in mobile zoos. So many individuals living empty lives, suffering for entertainment and profit. Including:
Chinchillas are treated as objects for entertainment, not the individuals they are
Animals are stacked in boxes day after day, many are reliant on heat and UV light but are left without
Bearded dragons are passed around groups of strangers, handled and frightened
