Physical characteristics.

Continuing with the curiosities of the Samoyed, we tell you that this is a breed of Spitz type dog. Which means that it is a dog with a robust and strong body. What your personality is like

Definitely, the Samoyed is a sociable, extroverted, affable and faithful dog; he is kind and very affectionate, especially with children, so he will be an excellent playmate for the little ones in the house.

He knows how to protect his home well; it will not allow any stranger to enter your house, without first warning, with loud barks. On the other hand, it is a dog that loves to participate and enjoy all family activities. Being a very sociable dog, it usually gets bored very quickly if it stays alone for several hours, and becomes a very noisy dog.

This dog is very active and needs a lot of exercise, so it is necessary to allocate at least two hours for various physical activities. When you go for a walk, they have a natural tendency to pull their owner, but you can train them to learn to walk next to a person.

Another curiosity that you have to keep in mind is that they love to dig and are great escapists, so it is essential that you reinforce security in case you have it in your garden. Of course, as with most breeds, it is convenient that you socialize from a very early age, especially with other domestic pets, such as cats. But, as we said, in general, it is a dog and they will love to play with them.

Feeding the Samoyed.

Dogs of large breeds, are usually characterized by having a great appetite. In addition, they require a different balance of nutrients, including minerals and vitamins. But we must bear in mind that Samoyeds can be prone to swelling and stomach problems. To minimize this risk, it is recommended to offer less abundant meals but more frequently.

Toilet of the Samoyed.

Another of the curiosities of the Samoyed is the care and grooming of this dog. Because it is a breed that requires some special maintenance. It should be brushed every day to keep it free of dirt and remove dead hair, if it is not possible to brush the dog daily; it is recommended to do it at least three times a week.
People who adopt a Samoyed should be aware that it is a dog whose fur, molts once or twice for years. Therefore, during that process, they will find hairs everywhere in their house; therefore, the frequency of brushing should be increased.

Being a dog that is accustomed to low temperatures, it can have a hard time in hot weather. For that reason it is recommended to trim the dog’s fur. But it’s not a good idea to shave it in its entirety; because it can present skin problems, because it is used to the protection offered by its fur.
